This Is Our Proven Method Of Attaching Flags To A Flag Pole
We are often asked “how do you attach the flag to the flag pole?” Our answer is Ball Bungees are our preferred choice. So we have put together a little “How To Guide” in Attaching a flag to a telescopic pole using a ball bungee which is a simple process. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Gather your materials: You’ll need your telescopic pole (this guide is for any size), a flag with grommets (small metal rings on the side of the flag which all ours come with), and a pair of ball bungees (note our banner style flags take 3) Oh a ball bungee is a plastic ball with a loop of elastic Here is a link
Extend the telescopic pole: Extend the telescopic pole to your desired height. Ensure that all sections are securely locked in place, we always like to give them a lil 1/4 turn to lock.
Position the flag: Decide where on the pole you want to attach the flag. Now I never go to the very end as that is a bit whippy, so our personal choice is to come down just a bit, but you can choose a different position if you prefer.
Attach the ball bungees to the flag: Put the loop of the bungee though the eyelet and then back on itself again so it is now attached to the flag, now do the same with the other eyelet. We always tend to leave our bungees attached to the flags, so we know that next time we go we can attach them easily to our poles!
Secure the flag to the flag pole with a ball bungee: Take the ball bungee and wrap it around the pole, stretch the ball bungee elastic and hook it onto itself. The ball should be on the outside of the bungee, creating a loop that holds the flag against the pole.
Adjust the tension: If needed, adjust the tension of the ball bungee to ensure a tight fit by just going around again. This will prevent the flag from slipping or coming loose.
Check the attachment: Give the flag a gentle tug to ensure it is securely fastened. If necessary, make any final adjustments to the tension or position of the flag. Oh and make sure the flag is the right way up before you raise your flag pole (been there done that and had them on upside down, so you won’t be alone!)
That’s it! You have successfully attached a flag to a telescopic pole using a ball bungee. Easy eh!
